OUR STORY
The Compassion Coalition is a non-partisan grassroot organization dedicated to protecting Utah kids from fringe politics and other threats to their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Compassion Coalition was formed organically in 2021 as Concerned Coalition by parents who wanted to protect all kids from partisan politics’ influence on schools amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Today, Compassion Coalition serves the broad mission of ensuring a bright future for Utah’s kids through compassion, reason, and integrity. We stand in support of educators, policymakers, public officials, and others who seek the best interests of all Utah children through empathy, compassion, and good judgment. We also stand between Utah’s children and fringe voices who push extremist policies aimed at our kids and the adults who have dedicated their lives to helping them.
OUR VISION
We believe each child has value and deserves protection and opportunities to grow. We live by three core values:
Compassion: We seek to elevate compassion and kindness for all of Utah’s children.
Health: We actively support people, policies, and practices that promote health, wellness, and safety for every child.
Reason: We seek to employ sound data, logic, and evidence on all matters affecting Utah kids, especially those where the stakes are high.
WHAT WE DO
We advocate for all Utah children in any arena where their well-being is at stake, including public education, public health, mental and emotional health, educator support, youth athletics, and more.
Our efforts include grassroots advocacy, legislation and policy, fundraising, public awareness, and education.
